Job summary

MYR Energy Services, a subsidiary of MYR Group Inc., is seeking a Pre-Construction Engineering Manager to oversee engineering for nationwide EPC electrical substation, transmission, and distribution projects from bid through closeout.

Responsibilities include leading design subcontractors, coordinating procurement, interfacing with vendors, and supporting owner design reviews, construction, and startup activities. PE licensed candidates preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years experience in design, engineering, or project management related to electrical, transmission, distribution, and substation projects
• PE license
• Experience managing project teams or consultants is a plus
• Construction related experience or EPC project experience

Responsibilities

• Understanding and preparing proposals for Engineer, Procure, Construction (EPC) electrical substation, transmission, and distribution projects
• Managing and coordinating all detailed design engineering subcontractors and the associated engineering field liaison activities
• Coordinating all engineered equipment and material procurement activities
• Interfacing with equipment vendors, including expediting vendor procurement information and deliverables, or delegating work to the procurement manager as necessary.
• Preparing the engineering and engineered equipment procurement requirements of the project
• Scheduling day-to-day engineering subcontractor and equipment procurement activities and coordinating these activities with the Project Executive and/or Project Manager
• Performing additional duties as directed by the Project Executive and/or the Project Manager
• Manage the testing and commissioning contractor for EPC projects
• Other duties as assigned
• Regular and predictable attendance
• Travel up to 25% required
• Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable
