Job summary

Truemed is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the Merchants & Integrations team, overseeing the integration surface across Shopify, BigCommerce, and custom integrations. You will remain close to code and data models while representing engineering on sales calls and helping merchants get integrated quickly.

The ideal candidate has been an excellent IC or tech lead in payments or integrations and is ready to grow a team without losing hands-on technical and customer-facing work.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a software engineering team, and a track record as a senior IC / tech lead in payments or integrations.
• Strong depth in backend systems, APIs, and data modeling.
• Hands-on familiarity with payments and ecommerce integration work.
• Comfort being customer-facing and representing engineering on calls.
• Judgment to balance speed, reliability, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Merchants & Integrations engineers on hiring, career development, performance, and direction.
• Own the integration surface: merchant-facing APIs, payment app, and platform integrations.
• Stay technical: review design decisions and unblock hard problems.
• Be customer-facing when it counts on sales and integration calls.
• Partner with Sales, Partnerships, Product, and Engineering to ensure fast, compliant integrations.
• Raise the bar on delivery and live-in-days speed.
