Confido Health, Inc. seeks an Engineering Manager to own a team of engineers and partner with the CTO to shape leadership as the company scales from 20 to 50+ engineers. You will recruit, mentor, and deliver on the team roadmap while maintaining technical depth in Rails, TS/React, and Python systems.

The role emphasizes earning trust through technical credibility and delivering measurable impact without heavy processes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years managing software engineers directly, on top of 5+ years as a hands-on engineer.
• Experience scaling through hyper-growth at an early-stage startup (Series A/B to beyond).
• Ability to discuss design reviews with senior engineers and hold your own technically.
• Proven track record of turning skeptics into outcomes, not titles.
• Preference for lightweight processes that add value and avoid unnecessary overhead.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage a team of 6–10 engineers with 1:1s, coaching, and career growth.
• Own delivery for the team's roadmap: planning, prioritization, unblocking without heavy process.
• Partner with the CTO on org design, ladders, and scalable management practices.
• Stay close to the code by joining architecture/design reviews across Rails, TS/React, and Python.
• Build and run hiring loops to attract strong engineers in a competitive market.
• Identify and grow future leads and managers from within the team.
