Job summary

Confido, the AI infrastructure powering modern CPG, seeks its first Engineering Manager in New York City. You will directly manage 6–10 engineers, own delivery of the team roadmap, and collaborate with the CTO on org design as we scale from 20 to 50+ engineers.

This is a player-coach role in a flat, founder-led environment. You’ll stay close to the code through architecture reviews of Rails, TypeScript/React, and Python, build hiring loops, and shape career ladders and management practices for

Qualifications

• 3+ years managing software engineers directly, on top of 5+ years as a hands-on engineer.
• Experience scaling through hyper-growth at an early-stage startup (Series A/B to Series C/D or beyond).
• Ability to discuss design reviews with senior engineers and contribute technically when needed.
• Proven track record of turning skeptics into builders through competence and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Directly managing a team of 6–10 engineers — 1:1s, coaching, career growth, and performance.
• Owning delivery for your team's roadmap: planning, prioritization, and unblocking without heavy processes.
• Partnering with the CTO on org design, career ladders, and management practices as we scale.
