Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to stand up a multi-disciplinary engineering organization for a full-scale launch test program. The role leads design through activation, builds the team, and establishes execution rhythms for rapid, high-stakes projects.

Ideal candidates bring deep expertise in test systems, controls, data acquisition, and rapid prototyping, with proven leadership across cross-functional teams in demanding environments. Travel ~30% to active test sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in testing, test infrastructure, or R&D environments.
• Minimum of 3–5 years in an engineering leadership or management role.
• Experience standing up or activating a new technical activity.
• Demonstrated experience in test planning, execution, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Stand up and activate a multi-disciplinary engineering team with defined roles and cadence.
• Lead regular stand-ups and execution reviews for alignment and issue resolution.
• Mentor engineers across multiple disciplines through the complete lifecycle of a test site.
• Coordinate cross-functional collaboration between engineering, operations, and program management.
• Lead rapid prototyping and development efforts to address program needs.
• Review and approve technical documentation and reports.
