Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation seeks an Engineering Manager II to lead the BA System Support team with a focus on budget ownership, scalable IT services, and program-wide IT initiatives. You will guide senior engineers, manage cross-functional projects, and ensure delivery aligned with program priorities.

You will oversee staffing, performance management, and coordination with security and compliance teams to uphold DoD-related requirements while driving automation and standardization across IT

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science degree in a related discipline.
• 8+ years of progressive engineering experience, including 4+ years of management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to build and develop high-performing technical teams. Includes hiring, coaching, performance management, career development, etc.
• Working understanding of program-funded environments, including direct vs. indirect labor, program billing, and handling of sensitive data
• Track record of owning a budget and making cost/risk/schedule trade-offs
• Strong communication skills
• Able to represent, defend, and negotiate on behalf of the team with cross-functional peers and senior leadership
• Technically aware, willing, and able to dig into the details when the situation requires it (not a hands-off manager)

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow leads and technical staff with career development.
• Own the BA System Support budget; participate in annual planning.
• Drive initiatives to completion that are valuable and cost-effective.
• Represent the team in cross-functional forums; negotiate for business needs.
• Drive scalability, automation, and standardization across sysadmin workflows.
• Lead engineering teams across programs; balance cost, risk, and priority.
