Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking a Project Engineer II to lead project activities from concept through delivery. You will interface with internal teams and external customers to ensure successful execution and adherence to cost, schedule, and performance requirements.

The role requires a strong technical background, robust project management skills, and the ability to operate in a hybrid office environment. Prior experience in aerospace/defense and EVMS CAM duties is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years’ engineering experience with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Higher level degree may substitute for experience.
• Thorough knowledge of engineering principles and practice.
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development team.
• Detailed understanding of requirements management, system design, and integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Provide technical oversight and guidance to project teams, ensuring alignment with objectives.
• Serve as primary interface with external customers on technical matters.
• Prepare comprehensive status reports with progress, risks, and mitigations.
• Identify issues, develop resolutions, and implement contingency strategies.
• Drive continuous improvement and adoption of best practices in project management.
• Identify and manage risks with documentation and mitigation planning.
