Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking an Engineering Manager II in Colorado to lead and mentor technical teams, manage the program budget, and drive scalable IT/infra initiatives in a hybrid office setting. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, risk management, and regulatory compliance to deliver secure, compliant solutions.

The position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s of Science degree in a related discipline.
• Typically, 8+ years of progressive engineering experience, which includes 4+ years of management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to build and develop high-performing technical teams.
• Working understanding of program-funded environments, including direct vs. indirect labor, program billing, and handling of sensitive data.
• Track record of owning a budget and making cost/risk/schedule trade-offs.
• Strong communication skills; able to negotiate with senior leadership.
• Technically aware and able to dive into details when required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow engineering leads and technical staff; manage performance and development.
• Own BA System Support budget; participate in annual planning and trade-offs.
• Drive initiatives that are valuable and cost-effective; align with strategic goals.
• Represent the team in cross-functional forums and negotiate for program outcomes.
• Advance scalability, automation, and a common approach; approve exceptions as needed.
• Balance speed with enterprise cost, risk, schedule and priority.
