Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking an Engineering Manager II to lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams in a hybrid office environment. You will plan staffing, budgets, and schedules, drive risk management, and mentor engineers while ensuring compliance with DoD and customer requirements.

You will oversee product design maturation and integration across electrical and mechanical domains, leveraging CATIA/3DExperience and MS Project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
• Typically 8+ years of progressive engineering experience including 4+ years in management.
• Experience leading large systems design and development teams.
• Experience maturing and approving product-level designs.
• Understanding of electrical systems design and hardware integration.
• Knowledge of mechanical design principles.

Responsibilities

• Support staffing plans, schedules, budgets, bids, and estimates for proposed program work packages.
• Ensure tools, processes, and training are available and aligned with SNC practices.
• Manage resource allocations, risks, and issues for program tasks.
• Collaborate on staffing requirements and help source, screen, interview, and hire engineering talent.
• Provide onboarding, training, mentorship, and career path development for teams.
• Conduct performance evaluations and conflict resolution.
