Job summary

New Relic is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a distributed team across the US and EU, shaping the future of our core platform. You will mentor engineers, promote proactive ownership, and align regional initiatives.

You will drive ambitious expansions (FedRAMP High/IL4, India, Australia), guide Go-based microservices, ensure reliability, and partner with Security and Product to maintain production readiness.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with 2–4+ years of people management; BS/BA required.
• Go proficiency including performance tuning and concurrency; mentor engineers.
• Kubernetes and Docker for cloud-native microservices.
• Experience managing production environments and on-call rotations.
• Experience coordinating across US Central/Eastern and EU time zones.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team across US and EU.
• Drive proactive technical ownership and platform reliability.
• Architect and execute global infrastructure expansions (FedRAMP High / IL4, India, Australia).
• Guide decisions on microservices, Go-based services and extreme-scale architectures.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Security, and Product to align roadmaps and remove blockers.
• Maintain operational rigour with GitOps and IaC practices.
