Job summary

MYR Energy Services is hiring an Engineering Manager to oversee EPC programs for electrical substation, transmission, and distribution projects from bid to closeout. You will manage engineering delivery through third-party consultants and coordinate design reviews, procurement, and as-built documentation.

The role requires 7+ years in design/engineering or PM for electrical transmission/substation projects, with PE preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7+ years of design, engineering, or project management experience related to electrical transmission, distribution, and substation projects.
• Experience managing project teams or consultants preferred.
• Professional Engineering Licensure (PE) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare proposals for EPC electrical substation, transmission, and distribution projects.
• Define and establish project scope for alignment with client and third party consultants.
• Manage and coordinate detailed design activities with engineering subcontractors and oversee related deliverables throughout the design lifecycle from bidding to as-builts.
• Coordinate project procurement activities with engineering subcontractors and the Procurement Manager, including bidding, specifications, and contracting.
• Work with material vendors to expedite procurement information and deliverables, or delegate these tasks to the Procurement Manager as needed.
• Define and prepare the project's engineering standards, specifications, and procurement requirements.
• Plan and coordinate daily engineering subcontractor and procurement activities with the Project Executive and/or Project Manager.
• Support negotiations with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Regular and predictable attendance
• Other duties as assigned
• Essential functions of this position are to be performed at a Company-designated office or field location
