Job summary

CAE Defense & Security is seeking a senior software engineer to lead the development and deployment of training support devices. You will implement, test, and document system software changes to the baseline, and work with project managers, instructors, and SMEs to evaluate and test designs.

The role requires designing and testing software across multiple engineering domains, with limited supervision and potential for overtime where needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in MIS, CS, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or technical equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in simulation field.
• Unix/Linux knowledge (IRIX, Solaris) and programming languages (C/C++, FORTRAN, Ada).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Word.

Responsibilities

• Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications.
• Supports and/or installs software applications/operating systems.
• Participates in testing through reviews, witnessings and certification of software.
• Coordinates test and evaluation activities associated with ROM and SIMCERT efforts.
• Provides technical direction to junior team members.
