Job summary

CAE USA Inc. in the United States is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Training System Support Center. You will participate in the development, integration, and deployment of training systems, interfaces, and simulation components under the guidance of lead engineers.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, debugging, documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable software within defense and security training environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
• 2–4 years of experience in software development, system integration, or technical support roles.
• Foundational knowledge of software engineering practices, debugging techniques, and application development.
• Ability to follow engineering guidance and work efficiently with general direction.
• Familiarity with operating systems, networking fundamentals, and software installation processes.
• Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for reporting status and documenting work.

Responsibilities

• Performs hands-on engineering tasks within a production team environment, supporting development and deployment of training systems, networking components, and simulation system interfaces.
• Completes tasks with general technical direction from lead engineers while ensuring quality and timeliness.
• Communicates project status, technical issues, risks, and solutions to lead engineers and stakeholders.
• Designs, modifies, develops, writes, and implements software applications and tools used in simulation environments.
• Supports, installs, and troubleshoots software applications, operating systems, and simulation components.
• Participates in the full software engineering lifecycle from requirements to deployment.
• Produces technical documentation and installation guides for systems.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support integration and enhancements.
