Job summary

Cloudera is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a 3-6 person team within the Data Platform Pillar, developing multi- and hybrid-cloud data management capabilities. You will balance technical leadership with people management, guiding architecture, delivery, and mentorship across geographically distributed teams.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 2+ years of related management experience.
• Demonstrated experience in technical leadership or people management roles; willingness to transition into people management.
• Strong background in public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Advanced Java and Python programming skills; Go and Javascript a plus.
• Strong experience deploying and operating systems in production.
• Solid knowledge of Linux environments, networking, and container technologies (Docker) and CI/CD solutions like Jenkins.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams across geographies.
• Passion for coaching and developing team members to achieve their full potential.

• Lead and inspire a talented team working on core capabilities, including security, communication tools, infrastructure provisioning, management, containerization, and service enablement.
• Deliver innovative solutions in both service and customer‑private form factors, spanning on‑premise and cloud environments.

• Play a pivotal role in influencing platform and product definition, technical architecture, engineering quality, and adherence to modern project delivery principles.
