Job summary

Cloudera in Austin, TX is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a 3–6 engineer team within the Data Platform pillar. You will guide core capabilities including security, infrastructure provisioning, containerization, and service enablement for both on‑premise and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 2+ years of management experience.
• Experience in technical leadership or people management; willingness to transition.
• Strong background in public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) with security, infra provisioning, containerization, and service enablement.
• Advanced Java and Python programming; Go and JavaScript a plus.
• Experience developing, deploying, and operating production systems.
• Knowledge of Linux, networking, containers (Docker) and CI/CD (Jenkins).
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Passion for coaching and developing team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a team of engineers focused on core capabilities including security, communication tools, infrastructure provisioning, management, containerization, and service enablement.
• Deliver innovative solutions in service and customer-private form factors across on-premise and cloud environments.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to team members, fostering their growth and advancement.
• Influence platform and product definition, technical architecture, engineering quality, and modern project delivery practices.
• Collaborate effectively with high-performance individuals across teams and geographies.
