Job summary

Cloudera is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a 3-6 person team within the Public Cloud/R&D Core group. This role blends technical leadership with people management to build scalable data management capabilities across on-premise and cloud environments.

You will mentor engineers, influence architecture, and drive modern delivery practices while collaborating with multiple teams globally to deliver high-impact data platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 2+ years of management experience.
• Experience in technical leadership or people management roles; willingness to transition to people management.
• Strong background in public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) with security, provisioning, containerization, and service enablement.
• Advanced Java and Python; Go and Javascript a plus.
• Experience developing, deploying, and operating production systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 3-6 engineers focused on core capabilities including security, infrastructure provisioning, containerization, and service enablement.
• Deliver solutions in on-premise and cloud environments; influence platform and product architecture.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to team members for career growth.
