Pearson is seeking an Engineering Manager for Data Foundations to lead the modernization of a trusted data platform. You will oversee roadmap execution, migration sequencing, and coordination across product, data engineering, security, and DevOps teams to ensure continuity for current consumers.

The role requires experience managing engineers at scale, a strong technical background, and a focus on data contracts, quality gates, and governance in AI-enabled products.

Formación

• 4+ years managing engineers who ship to production.
• Ability to review technical decisions and be credible with AI-fluent engineers.
• Experience delivering model-backed or agentic capability to real users.
• Experience managing across legacy and target platform while shipping.
• Distributed-team experience across time zones and strong written discipline.
• Regulated/privacy-sensitive environment experience; K-12/FERPA exposure an advantage.
• Relevant degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the engineering delivery for Data Foundations, including roadmap execution and migration sequencing.
• Coordinate across source systems, downstream consumers, and partner teams to protect continuity.
• Set expectations for data contracts, quality gates, lineage, observability, and access controls.
• Partner with Product, Security, DevOps, and vendor teams to align priorities and resolve dependencies.
• Coach capability, run performance and development conversations, and build succession inside the team.
• Maintain release gates with evaluation sets and guardrails for model-backed behavior.
