Pearson is seeking an engineering manager to lead the Data Foundations platform modernization, guiding migration, governance, and release gate for AI-enabled capabilities.

You will own planning, coordinate across product, data engineering, security, and DevOps, and ensure guardrails and compliance while delivering with legacy and modern stacks.

Qualifications

• 4+ years managing engineers who ship to production.
• Experience delivering a model-backed or agentic capability to real users.
• Experience managing across a legacy and a target platform while shipping.
• Experience in regulated or privacy-sensitive environments; K-12 and FERPA exposure is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead overall engineering delivery for Data Foundations, including roadmap execution, platform readiness, migration sequencing, cutover planning, and cross-team coordination.
• Set expectations for data contracts, quality gates, lineage, observability, access controls, and support ownership.
• Partner with Product, Data Engineering, Security, Compliance, DevOps and vendor teams to align delivery priorities and protect continuity during modernization.
• Coach capability deliberately and run performance conversations; build succession within the team.
