Job summary

Deputy is a global SaaS workforce management company empowering scheduling and front-line teams. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will lead the Scheduling team, grow engineers, and make pragmatic trade-offs to improve performance, reliability, and enterprise readiness.

You will guide architecture, collaborate with Product and Design, and push AI-enabled practices while maintaining security and observability across a multi-tenant platform used by thousands of customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineers, including directing delivery and growth.
• Strong technical judgment with ability to explain decisions to diverse audiences.
• Experience delivering and operating customer-facing software, balancing speed and reliability.
• Track record of coaching engineers with clear expectations and feedback.
• Experience with AI development tools and evaluating their outputs.
• Ability to create momentum in ambiguous situations and make pragmatic trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team responsible for Scheduling, guiding growth and delivery.
• Shape the technical direction by defining architecture choices and trade-offs.
• Collaborate with Product, Design and Data to map strategy to measurable roadmaps.
• Advance AI-enabled development practices, tooling, and guardrails across the team.
