Job summary

Engageware is seeking a hands-on Team Lead to own the Appointment Scheduling team's delivery, process, and technical direction. You’ll grow engineers, maintain healthy velocity, and guide AI-augmented development across design, code, test, and review to keep delivery grounded in verified data.

You will own the scheduling platform’s architecture, data models, and API surfaces while collaborating with Product and Design to ensure the booking experience meets customer needs at enterprise scale.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping and leading an engineering team.
• Deep stack knowledge: JVM backend (Java/Spring Boot) and modern TS front ends.
• Experience modernizing mature, business-critical systems.
• Fluency with AI coding agents and AI-augmented development.
• Genuine product sense and customer-focused booking experience.
• Based in the United States with willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Own planning, prioritization, and delivery for the Appointment Scheduling team.
• Grow engineers across levels and maintain team health.
• Collaborate with Principal Engineer on architecture and delivery.
• Align with Product and Design to solve customer problems.
• Define technical direction for scheduling core, availability, routing, and channels.
• Improve test coverage and maintain safe API changes.
• Evolve data architecture (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and service boundaries.
• Lead AI-augmented SDLC adoption and guardrails.
• Ensure AI features are grounded in verified data.
