Job summary

Timely is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain our core optimization technology powering school scheduling. You will lead technical projects and help operationalize the optimizer for scale, while guiding the squad and collaborating with product and data teams.

You will work on machine learning-augmented optimization, backend APIs, and full-stack systems, with a strong emphasis on reliability, observability, and fast delivery in a fast-growing EdTech environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of development experience with a track record of shipping value to customers across the stack.
• Experience delivering software on complex projects, partnering with product stakeholders and driving decisions.
• Deep knowledge in optimization modeling, ML, AI-enabled product stacks, and backend/API development.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain core optimization technology and associated full-stack/data systems.
• Lead challenging technical projects and drive opportunities across the squad and engineering team.
• Provide technical leadership over stack areas and promote best practices in communication and delivery.
