Job summary

Cengage Group is seeking an Engineering Manager / Technology Lead to guide School-focused digital learning platforms. You will lead remote teams using agile practices, drive product and platform development, and partner with product and design to deliver customer-centric outcomes.

Responsibilities include defining user stories, prioritizing the backlog, and ensuring scalable, reliable enterprise software across 24/7 platforms, while staying current with GenAI and cloud-native innovations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership experience in technology strategy and delivery.
• Experience building and leading a global workforce across time zones.
• Experience modernizing monolithic architectures and implementing hybrid cloud strategies.
• Proficiency with AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudFormation), Kubernetes, Docker, and IaC (Terraform, AWS CDK).
• Proven track record delivering scalable, high-availability enterprise systems with CI/CD and automated testing.
• Familiarity with Agile methods (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Lead software development teams for application development and platform support.
• Drive agile delivery, backlog prioritization, and timely releases.
• Own team outcomes and collaborate with product, design, and other tech leads.
• Ensure 24/7 reliability and high-performance platforms for millions of users.
