Job summary

Pearson is seeking an engineering leader to drive Data Foundations modernization while ensuring continuity for current platform consumers. You will manage AI-enabled product capabilities, enforce guardrails and release gates, and collaborate across Product, Security, and DevOps to deliver a reliable data platform.

You will coach engineers, oversee performance conversations, and shape the team's approach to responsible AI, data contracts, and observability across both legacy and next-gen systems.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineers who ship to production.
• Ability to review technical decisions and engage credibly with AI-fluent engineers.
• Experience delivering model-backed or agentic capabilities to real users and monitoring outcomes.
• Experience holding a quality gate under delivery pressure and explaining past decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering delivery for Data Foundations, including roadmap, readiness, and cutover planning.
• Set expectations for data contracts, quality gates, lineage, and observability across data domains.
• Partner with Product, Data Engineering, Security, and DevOps to align priorities and protect continuity during modernization.
• Coach capability growth, run performance conversations, and build team succession.
• Maintain a balance between legacy platforms and new targets while shipping continuously.
