Job summary

Salesforce is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a high-impact team responsible for authentication infrastructure and scalable datastore services. The role centers on Java, NoSQL, and DevOps practices, coupled with AI-augmented development and architectural oversight.

You will guide strategy with PM and architecture teams, manage priorities using Agile methods, and drive code quality, security, and performance while coaching engineers toward advanced system design.

Qualifications

• Direct people management experience leading software engineering teams.
• Strong software development experience with Java, web services (REST/RPC), and system architecture.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix command line, bash, microservices architecture, and distributed systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with cross-team collaboration.
• Hands-on proficiency with AI development tools and evaluating AI outputs.

Responsibilities

• Lead, empower, and develop a team of software engineers delivering APIs, logging/monitoring, performance tuning, and datastore services.
• Develop short- and long-term product and operational strategies for Cloud Atlas with PM and architecture teams.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables using Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Drive software quality, performance, security, and resilience via code reviews, CI, and incident response.
• Coach engineers to grow into higher-level system design and architecture in an AI-augmented environment.
• Own integration of AI tools into daily development, including configuration and review processes.
• Guard architectural integrity, security best practices, and technical standards as AI increases code volume.
