Job summary

Salesforce is seeking an engineering manager to lead Cloud Atlas, a distributed authentication datastore, with emphasis on Java, APIs, and DevOps practices. You will coach a high-impact team across software engineers, drive architecture, and champion secure, scalable systems.

You'll partner with product management and architecture to set short- and long-term strategies, implement Agile processes, and mentor engineers in AI-assisted development while upholding technical standards and code quality.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading software engineering teams.
• Strong Java, web services, and system architecture expertise.
• Experience with Linux/Unix, Bash, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration.
• Hands-on proficiency with AI development tools and evaluating AI outputs.
• Experience assessing candidates on prompts and orchestrating multi-agent workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a software engineering team delivering APIs, logging, monitoring, and datastore services.
• Develop product and operational strategies for Cloud Atlas with PM and architecture teams.
• Manage priorities, deadlines, and deliverables using Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Drive software quality, performance, security, and resilience via code reviews and CI.
• Develop engineers' ability to work in an AI-augmented environment and advance system design.
• Own integration of AI tools into daily development with review gates for human validation.
• Guard architectural integrity, security best practices, and technical standards; mentor audits of AI-generated code.
