Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an engineering leader to build and scale a high-impact Accounts Payable platform. The role sits within the Seattle hybrid environment, guiding a 7-10 engineer team and owning a defined portion of the next-generation AP software.

You will partner with Design and Product, set the team’s technical and product direction, and coach engineers across levels while championing user needs and AI-enabled improvements.

Qualifications

• Track record of engineering leadership building and scaling customer-facing products.
• Strong product sense with ability to make and defend product and UX tradeoffs.
• Staff-engineer level technical bar; operate at all levels and earn respect of an engineering team.
• Strong customer empathy and advocacy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrated coaching and mentorship of engineers across levels.
• Minimum 2+ years in an engineering management role.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a full-stack team (7-10 engineers) owning a defined part of Accounts Payable software.
• Define and sharpen the team mandate within Payments group — ownership, investments, and customer wins.
• Set technical and product direction, making tradeoffs about what to build and in what order.
• Ship high-quality, reliable Accounts Payable product balancing feature velocity with solid foundation.
• Foster a people-centered culture built on enablement, trust, and context-sharing.
• Partner with Design and Product to align on scope and delivery.
• Provide coaching and career development for engineers at all levels.
• Bring an AI-forward mindset to team operations and raise AI standards.
• Translate customer feedback into engineering priorities and drive product discovery.
