Job summary

Brex is seeking an engineering leader in Seattle to build and scale a full-stack Accounts Payable product team. You will own technical and product direction, hire and mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product and Design to deliver high-impact features.

The role operates in a hybrid Seattle office model, with a strong emphasis on customer outcomes and AI-driven improvements. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Track record of engineering leadership building and scaling customer-facing products.
• Strong product sense and ability to defend UX tradeoffs.
• Staff-engineer level technical bar across levels.
• Strong customer empathy and advocacy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Coaching and mentorship of engineers at all levels.
• Minimum 2+ years in an engineering management role.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a 7-10 engineer full-stack team for next-gen Accounts Payable software.
• Define and sharpen the team's mandate within the Payments group.
• Set the team's technical and product direction, making tradeoffs about what to build and in what order.
• Ship a high-quality, reliable Accounts Payable product balancing velocity with solid foundation.
• Foster a people-centered culture built on enablement and trust.
• Partner cross-functionally with Design and Product to align on scope and delivery.
• Provide coaching and career development for engineers at all levels.
• Bring an AI-forward mindset to how the team builds and operates.
• Translate customer feedback into engineering priorities and drive product discovery.
