Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in New York is seeking an engineering leader to helm the Bill Pay team, a high-functioning part of our Accounts Payable software. You will lead 7-10 engineers, shape the technical and product direction, and own delivery across design and product teams.

This role is based in our New York office in a hybrid environment, with a minimum of three in-office days per week (Mon, Wed, Thu) and up to four weeks of fully remote work per year.

Qualifications

• Experience leading customer-facing products and teams.
• Strong product and UX tradeoff judgment.
• Staff-engineer level technical authority and influence.
• Customer empathy and advocacy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Coaching and mentorship across levels.
• Minimum 2+ years in an engineering management role.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a full-stack team (7-10 engineers) owning a defined part of the AP software.
• Define and sharpen the team's mandate within Payments group; decide investments and priorities.
• Set technical and product direction, making tradeoffs about what to build and when.
• Ship a high-quality, reliable AP product balancing feature velocity with a solid technical foundation.
• Foster a people-centered culture built on enablement, trust, and context-sharing.
• Partner cross-functionally with Design and Product on scope and delivery.
• Provide coaching and career development for engineers at all levels.
• Bring an AI-forward mindset to how the team builds and operates.
• Translate customer feedback into engineering priorities and drive product discovery.
