Job summary

AppFolio is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a 6-person cross-functional team focused on enhancing the accounting module within AppFolio Property Manager. This role will drive automation and AI capabilities for Accounts Payable, requiring strong leadership and collaboration with other engineers and product partners.

You will onboard to our stack, align on problems, and contribute to scalable, high-quality software through TDD, CI, and agile practices.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in CS or related technical field.
• 5+ years as a full-stack software engineer.
• Hands-on experience building web-based SaaS apps.
• Ability to drive impact autonomously across the full SDLC.
• Knowledge of Ruby on Rails; experience with Ruby/Java/Go/Python.
• Experience with AI-driven development and LLMs in production.
• Collaborates with product and design to deliver technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable, robust, web-based solutions for customers.
• Formulate and evaluate algorithms and DB queries for SaaS scale.
• Implement features and optimize performance for scalability.
• Use TDD, code reviews, CI/CD to deliver high-quality software.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, design, and customers.
