Job summary

Perdue Foods is offering an Engineering Management Trainee program in Bridgewater, VA, starting June 2027, for 24 months to develop future engineering leaders through hands‑on assignments, rotations, mentorship, and leadership development.

Participants will rotate through operations and engineering areas, participate in regional training, and may transition to an Associate Plant Engineer role after the first year; base salary ranges $78,000–$84,400 with benefits and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Preferred degree concentrations include Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Willingness to travel and relocate.
• Strong written and verbal communication and leadership potential.

Responsibilities

• Participate in structured rotations across key operational, support, and engineering areas to build end‑to‑end understanding of plant operations and engineering work processes.
• Learn and apply safety, food safety, quality, environmental compliance, engineering standards, and operational requirements.
• Develop working knowledge of project management, capital project execution, and facility infrastructure through hands‑on learning.
• Support daily engineering and operational activities under the direction of experienced leaders and coordinate with cross‑functional teams.
• Demonstrate increasing independence and take ownership of tasks and development goals.
