Job summary

Perdue Foods in Milford, CT is launching an Engineering Management Trainee (Pathways) Program starting in June 2027. The 24‑month sequence offers hands-on learning, structured rotations across plant operations, engineering work processes, project management, and capital project execution to build technical and leadership capabilities.

During EMT I you gain foundational experience, with progression to EMT II after about six months and an additional pay advancement at 12 months.

Qualifications

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Bachelor’s degree completed within 24 months of program start date.
• Preferred engineering concentrations include Mechanical, Electrical, Agricultural, Civil, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Demonstrated leadership potential and interest in engineering, project engineering, or project management.
• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in structured rotations across key operational, support, and engineering areas.
• Learn and apply safety, quality, and environmental requirements while working with senior engineers and leaders.
• Develop project management and capital project execution knowledge through hands-on learning.
• Support daily engineering and operational activities under guidance of leaders.
• Build relationships across cross-functional teams and demonstrate teamwork and accountability.
• Identify improvement opportunities using data and observations to support safety, quality, reliability and efficiency.
