Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Sr. Manager-Mechanical Engineering to lead the Large Mechanisms team at LC-36, Cape Canaveral, FL. You will balance hands-on technical direction with people leadership, guiding mechanical design and GSE development for launch operations.

You will review critical designs, manage multiple programs, and partner with stakeholders to ensure safety, quality and on-time delivery in a highly collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 12+ years in mechanical engineering with large-scale systems.
• 6+ years in engineering management or team lead roles.
• Experience leading design programs from concept to operations.
• Proficiency in GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Experience with heavy-duty mechanism types and dynamic loading.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical authority for the large mechanisms team.
• Directly manage Mechanical Engineers; recruit and develop talent.
• Own deliverables, manage scope, schedule, and budget across programs.
• Oversee external partners and ensure design quality and schedule.
• Interface with program leadership and conduct design reviews.
