Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead design efforts for large ground systems at Cape Canaveral. You will own mechanical designs, perform FEA, and coordinate with external partners through fabrication, testing and activation.

The role requires 7+ years in mechanical design/analysis of large systems, CAD proficiency, and familiarity with GD&T. U.S. citizenship or qualifying residency is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 7+ years designing/analysing large mechanical systems (e.g. launch vehicle GSE).
• Experience leading mechanical designs from concept to commissioning.
• CAD experience required; FEA experience required.
• Familiar with GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for assigned subsystems and resolve technical challenges.
• Own and deliver mechanical design solutions for large systems.
• Perform and review FEA and hand-calcs for complex mechanisms.
• Manage external design/ fabrication partners through project lifecycle.
