Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Technical Manager for the Large Mechanisms team at LC-36, Cape Canaveral, FL. Lead a group of mechanical engineers delivering ground mechanical systems and GSE, balancing hands-on technical direction with people management.

You will set technical direction, review critical designs, and interface with program leadership while maintaining engagement in technical work and ensuring safety and quality across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 12+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience with large-scale mechanical systems, mechanisms, or GSE.
• 6+ years of direct engineering management or team lead experience with performance management.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership as the technical authority for the large mechanisms team; approve design packages, analyses, and drawings.
• Directly manage a team of Mechanical Engineers; recruit, hire, and develop staff; foster an inclusive safety-first culture.
• Own program deliverables across multiple projects, manage scope, schedule, budget, and ensure design reviews and regulatory compliance.
