Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer to lead an 80-person engineering team at our downtown Seattle headquarters. You will oversee building systems, supervise contractors, and support preventive maintenance and safety programs to ensure reliable operations.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry.
• Universal CFC EPA certification or plan to achieve within first year (with JLL assistance).
• Washington 07 license preferred.
• Leadership/supervisory experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders up to 30 ft.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct contractors under the Chief Engineer and monitor performance.
• Assist in formulating and implementing preventive maintenance programs.
• Train and supervise the engineering team to expand capabilities.
• Maintain CMMS daily and handle tenant service requests.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly operations and mechanical reports.
• Respond to emergencies and communicate with clients and occupants.
• Complete tasks including maintenance, painting, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and general repairs.
• Conduct facility inspections and contribute to due diligence.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and hazardous materials handling.
