Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in Richmond, VA seeks a Chief Engineer to lead the building engineering team and ensure safe, efficient operation of all systems on-site. You will manage staff, plan maintenance, and align budget with operational goals.

The role requires 7+ years in engineering, CFC EPA certification, and strong Microsoft Office skills. On-site work with a 5-person team, with a focus on reliability and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of related experience, especially as a Chief Engineer or similar role.
• People management experience leading a team of engineers and technicians.
• Universal CFC EPA certification is required or strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) and field operations.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and safely use ladders up to 30 feet.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems.
• Supervise and manage engineers and maintenance staff, including hiring and coaching.
• Develop and update preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance plans.
• Lead budgeting activities and participate in capital improvement planning.
• Coordinate with contractors and supervise performance; respond to emergencies.
