Job summary

San José State University’s Charles W. Davidson College of Engineering seeks a Systems Analyst to develop, implement, and maintain college-wide computing systems.

You will coordinate tech projects, support students and staff, train student workers, and manage virtual servers and software procurement. Qualifications

• Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Four years of relevant experience. Advanced degree may substitute.
• Experience with OS patching and vulnerability abatement is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure effective, reliable operation of College of Engineering computer laboratories by serving as systems administrator and lead.
• Plan, design, procure, and implement upgrades to support coursework.
• Develop procedures for network and local printing solutions for labs.
• Provide projector and AV support for COE lecture rooms.
• Manage licensing servers for software in labs.
• Develop and maintain virtual server environments for lab servers.
• Create and maintain an application server for network software deployment.
• Ensure high availability, failover, and backup procedures.
• Document tools and procedures for rapid regeneration of faulty workstations and servers.
