Job summary

San José State University’s Charles W. Davidson College of Engineering seeks a Systems Analyst to design, implement, and maintain college-wide computing systems, supporting students, faculty, and staff.

The role coordinates technology projects, provides technical support, and develops procurement specifications. The position advances equity and inclusion while aligning day-to-day operations with core values, reporting to the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies & Research and ECS leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Four years of relevant experience; advanced degree may substitute.
• Strong Windows server and domain controller experience.
• Experience with imaging and cloning for mass deployments.
• Proficient in networking and printer management.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure reliable operation of college computing labs as systems administrator.
• Plan upgrades and ensure lab configurations support coursework.
• Develop procedures for network and local printing solutions.
• Provide AV support for COE lecture rooms and manage software licenses.
• Develop and maintain virtual server environments for lab servers.
• Create and administer an application server for campus software deployment.
• Ensure high availability, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Document procedures and facilitate rapid recovery of workstations/servers.
