Job summary

STV in Louisville/Owensboro, KY seeks an Engineering Director to lead our Transportation & Infrastructure division. This senior role involves office leadership, staff mentorship, and growing the Kentucky practice to serve clients statewide.

You will manage multi-discipline teams and drive business development with state and local agencies. The ideal candidate has extensive leadership, excellent communication, and a proven track record delivering transportation projects within Kentucky.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Planning (Master’s Degree a plus).
• Minimum 15 years of Transportation and Infrastructure experience.
• Kentucky Professional Engineer (PE).
• Direct experience delivering transportation projects.
• Direct experience leading multi-discipline project teams.
• Experience with transportation agencies (federal, state and local).
• Business Development and Operations management experience.
• Experience with Owensboro area agencies, KYTC, and Kentucky-based agencies.
• Strong reputation with major clients and market opportunities in Kentucky.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proven project management of complex transportation projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Practice building, mentorship and skill development of professional staff.
• Lead business development and proposal efforts for Transportation and Infrastructure projects.
• Manage multi-discipline technical teams to deliver projects to clients.
• Negotiate and establish project budgets, staffing and productivity to deliver services.
• Coordinate with other directors to ensure technical standards across projects.
• Perform and manage diverse, complex tasks requiring planning and management.
• Collaborate with project team professionals to reach project goals.
• Develop and nurture key client relationships for future opportunities.
• Focus on client development, business development and industry participation.
• Assist with public involvement efforts and presentations.
