Job summary

STV Incorporated seeks an Engineering Director in Louisville or Owensboro, KY to lead our Transportation & Infrastructure practice. You will mentor staff, grow the Kentucky practice, and drive project delivery with senior staff support.

The role emphasizes leadership, communication, and business development with state and federal agencies, plus collaboration across offices to maintain high technical standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Planning; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum 15 years of Transportation and Infrastructure experience.
• Kentucky Professional Engineer (PE).
• Direct experience delivering transportation projects.
• Strong leadership for multi‑discipline projects with high technical complexity.
• Experience with transportation agencies (federal, state, local).
• Proven practice development and management in Transportation & Infrastructure.
• Business development and operations management experience.
• Experience with Owensboro area agencies, KYTC, and Kentucky agencies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Practice building, mentorship and skill development of staff.
• Lead business development and proposal efforts for Transportation & Infrastructure projects.
• Manage multi‑discipline technical teams to deliver projects to clients.
• Negotiate budgets, staffing, coordination to deliver services.
• Coordinate with other directors to maintain technical standards.
• Lead diverse tasks requiring planning, communication and management.
• Develop and nurture client relationships for future work opportunities.
• Collaborate with leadership on client development and industry participation.
• Assist with public involvement efforts and presentations.
