Job summary

VFP, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer/Designer to design, develop, and modify shelter drawings and electrical systems as directed by the department manager.

The role involves preparing detailed drawings, breaking down bid specifications, performing structural and energy calculations, and producing BOMs while drawings are in progress. The ideal candidate holds a Four-year Electrical Engineering degree (preferred) with 4–7 years of related experience, and is proficient in AutoCAD or Revit,

Qualifications

• Four (4) year Electrical Engineering degree preferred.
• 4 to 7 years on the job Electrical Engineering/Designing experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD or Revit.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Computer programs: Windows, Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Revit.

Responsibilities

• Design, development, alteration, or modification of shelter drawings and Electrical systems as assigned by the department manager.
• Prepare detailed drawings for shelter and electrical design and ensure accuracy.
• Break down information from bid letters, customer specs, and customer drawings for shelter design.
• Perform calculations (AC service, HVAC, energy, structural) per standard procedures.
• Prepare work orders (detailed BOM) while drawings are in progress.
• Contribute on high-complexity projects and complete projects without supervision.
• Assist other designers as needed and provide technical assistance to factory personnel, sales staff, or customers.
• Travel as needed and perform other duties assigned by management.

Responsible for the design, development, alteration, or modification of shelter drawings and Electrical systems as assigned by the department manager.

• Prepares a wide variety of detailed drawings for the shelter and electrical design and is responsible for their accuracy.
• Breaks down information obtained from the bid letter, customer specification, and customer supplied drawings to do shelter design.
• Makes a variety of calculations (AC service, HVAC, energy, and structural, etc.) following standard procedures.
• Prepare work orders (detailed BOM) while drawings are in progress.
• Contributes on projects of high complexity.
• Completes projects without supervision.
• Assists other designers as needed.
• Renders technical assistance to factory personnel, sales staff or customers as needed.
• Possible travel as needed.
• Performs other assigned duties as required by management.

Qualifications
