Job summary

VFP, Inc. seeks a design professional to design, develop, alter, or modify shelter drawings and electrical systems under the department manager. The role involves detailed electrical design work for shelters and collaboration with project teams.

Responsibilities include deriving shelter designs from bid data, performing calculations, and preparing BOMs. Occasional travel for training and collaboration may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Four-year Electrical Engineering degree is preferred
• 4 to 7 years on-the-job experience with electrical engineering & design
• AutoCAD (required)
• Revit (required)
• Excellent oral and written communication
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Windows operating systems
• Knowledge of algebra, geometry, and other mathematical formulas
• Technical ability in the architectural, mechanical, industrial, and electrical fields

Responsibilities

• Prepares a wide variety of detailed drawings and electrical designs for shelters.
• Breaks down information obtained from the bid letter, customer specifications, and customer supplied drawings to create the shelter design.
• Makes a variety of calculations following standard procedures (AC service, HVAC, energy, structural, etc.)
• Prepares work orders while drawings are in progress (detailed BOM).
• Contributes to projects of high complexity.
• Completes projects independently and assists other designers.
• Provides technical assistance to factory personnel, sales staff, or customers.
• Performs other assigned duties when needed.
• Potential travel involved for training and collaboration, as needed.
