Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to design and document shelter electrical systems, prepare BOMs, and perform calculations for AC service, HVAC, energy, and structure. The role involves collaboration with factory staff, sales, and customers and may require travel.

Four-year Electrical Engineering degree is preferred, with 4–7 years of related experience and strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit. Excellent communication skills are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, modify, or alter shelter drawings and electrical systems as assigned by the department manager
• Prepare a wide variety of detailed drawings for shelter and electrical design and ensure accuracy
• Prepare work orders with detailed BOMs as drawings progress
• Travel as needed and provide technical assistance to factory personnel, sales staff, or customers

Responsible for the design, development, alteration, or modification of shelter drawings and Electrical systems as assigned by the department manager.Prepares a wide variety of detailed drawings for the shelter and electrical design and is responsible for their accuracy.Breaks down information obtained from the bid letter, customer specification, and customer supplied drawings to do shelter design.Makes a variety of calculations (AC service, HVAC, energy, and structural, etc.) following standard procedures.Prepare work orders (detailed BOM) while drawings are in progress.Contributes on projects of high complexity.Completes projects without supervision.Assists other designers as needed.Renders technical assistance to factory personnel, sales staff or customers as needed.Possible travel as needed.Performs other assigned duties as required by management.VFP | Explore CareersFour (4) year Electrical Engineering degree preferred.4 to 7 years on the job Electrical Engineering/Designing experience.AutoCAD or RevitExcellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.Computer programs: Windows, Word, Excel, the latest release of AutoCAD, the latest release of Revit.Knowledge of algebra and geometry and mathematical formulas.Technical ability in the Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical fields.
