Job summary

VFP, Inc. is seeking a designer to create and modify shelter drawings and electrical systems under the department manager's guidance. You will prepare detailed shelter/electrical drawings, review bid letters, customer specs, and drawings, and ensure accuracy.

This role requires 4–7 years of electrical engineering/design experience, proficiency with AutoCAD or Revit, and strong communication skills. Travel may be involved, and you will work on high-complexity projects with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Four (4) year Electrical Engineering degree preferred.
• 4 to 7 years on the job Electrical Engineering/Designing experience.
• Knowledge of algebra and geometry and mathematical formulas.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, alter, or modify shelter drawings and electrical systems as assigned by the department manager.
• Prepare a wide variety of detailed drawings for the shelter and electrical design and ensure their accuracy.
• Break down information from bid letters, customer specifications, and customer drawings to do shelter design.
• Make calculations (AC service, HVAC, energy, and structural) following standard procedures.
• Prepare work orders (detailed BOM) while drawings are in progress.
• Contribute on projects of high complexity.
• Complete projects without supervision.
• Assist other designers as needed.
• Render technical assistance to factory personnel, sales staff or customers as needed.
• Possible travel as needed.
• Perform other assigned duties as required by management.

• Prepares a wide variety of detailed drawings for the shelter and electrical design and is responsible for their accuracy.
• Breaks down information obtained from the bid letter, customer specification, and customer supplied drawings to do shelter design.
• Makes a variety of calculations (AC service, HVAC, energy, and structural, etc.) following standard procedures.
• Prepare work orders (detailed BOM) while drawings are in progress.
