Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a junior structural designer to assist with shelter drawings and structural systems. You will develop and modify drawings, prepare detailed BOMs, and check peers' work for accuracy. Strong AutoCAD or Revit skills and basic math knowledge are essential.

The role involves interfacing with factory personnel and customers, with potential travel as needed. 0–2 years of experience preferred; associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• 0 to 2 years on-the-job Structural Engineering/Design experience.
• AutoCAD or Revit experience required.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of algebra and geometry; mathematical formulas.
• Ability to read bid letters, customer specs, and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, alter, or modify shelter drawings and structural systems as assigned.
• Prepare a wide variety of detailed drawings for shelter and structural design and ensure accuracy.
• Prepare work orders (detailed BOM) while drawings are in progress.
• Check/mark up team members' drawings as required.
• Provide technical assistance to factory personnel, sales staff or customers.
• Travel as needed; perform other duties as required by management.

Responsible for the design, development, alteration, or modification of shelter drawings and structural systems as assigned.Prepares a wide variety of detailed drawings for the shelter and structural design and is responsible for their accuracy.Breaks down information obtained from the bid letter, customer specification, customer supplied drawings and electrical designer drawings to do shelter design.Perform a variety of calculations following standard procedures.Prepare work orders (detailed BOM) while drawings are in progress.Works on projects of limited complexity composing of mainly single concrete shelters.Assists other designers as needed.Checks/Marks up team members drawings as required.Renders technical assistance to factory personnel, sales staff or customers as needed.Possible travel as needed.Performs other assigned duties as required by management.VFP | Explore CareersAssociate degree preferred0 to 2 years on the job Structural Engineering/Designing experience.AutoCAD or RevitExcellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.Computer programs: Windows, Word, Excel, the latest release of AutoCAD, the latest release of Revit.Knowledge of algebra and geometry and mathematical formulas.Technical ability in the Structural, Architectural, and Mechanical fields.
