Job summary

Williams International in Pontiac, MI is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to join the Software Development team. The BSA will capture and translate business needs into software requirements, align solutions with engineering workflows, and partner with SMEs to ensure successful delivery.

The role involves creating user stories, functional specs, test plans, and coordinating with engineers and leadership to implement changes and improvements in an aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or enterprise application support.
• Strong understanding of standard business practices in Engineering organization.
• Experience gathering, documenting, and validating requirements.
• Experience creating process maps, user stories, functional specifications, acceptance criteria, or similar documentation.
• Experience using Jira or a comparable work-management platform.
• Experience supporting functional testing and user acceptance testing.
• Ability to understand business, engineering, and manufacturing applications, workflows, data relationships, and system integrations.
• Strong written, verbal, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with SMEs, end-users, developers, technical teams, and leadership.
• U.S. citizenship is required
• Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed.

Responsibilities

• Gather and validate business requirements with SMEs; document rules, workflows, data needs, dependencies, and constraints.
• Translate business needs into user stories, functional specifications, process maps, acceptance criteria, and other docs for development.
• Use standard project/work-management tools for planning, tracking progress, and delivering software features and fixes.
• Review work items with leads and development team; support backlog refinement and release planning.
• Collaborate with developers and database specialists; understand data flows and integrations.
• Develop test scenarios and test cases; support testing and validate functionality.
• Communicate requirements, decisions, risks, and changes to stakeholders clearly.
• Assist with change management, training materials, and user communications.
