Job summary

David Evans and Associates, Inc. in Bellevue, WA is seeking an Engineer-in-Training for Roads and Highways who will work with experienced engineers to develop roadway and multimodal projects. You will gain hands-on experience with design, calculations, and coordination across disciplines using industry tools.

The ideal candidate is eager to learn and grow, with mentorship and opportunities to advance toward licensure in a collaborative transportation practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• 0–3 years of Civil Engineering experience.
• Exposure to OpenRoads Designer and Civil 3D through experience or coursework.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and design of roadway and intersection projects.
• Develop design calculations, plan sheets, details, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Develop and revise engineering plans using OpenRoads Designer and Civil 3D.
• Review maps, survey information, and other technical data for design.
• Assist with construction documents, reports, specifications, and documentation.
• Coordinate with road, structural, drainage, traffic and environmental disciplines.
• Assist with utility conflict identification and coordination.
• Support project organization, document control, and quality-control reviews.
• Assist with construction-phase services and site visits as needed.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate with clients.
