David Evans and Associates, Inc. seeks interns for the Roads and Highways practice to support planning, design, and documentation of transportation projects this summer.

Candidates will perform calculations, draft construction documents, and gain mentorship while contributing to real-world freeway, highway, and local roadway work. Preferred candidates are pursuing a Civil Engineering degree with ABET accreditation, and have familiarity with design tools like MicroStation, AutoCAD/C3D, and

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering with ABET accreditation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
• Ability to communicate and work in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills including active listening.
• Willingness to ask questions and learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the planning and design of roadway and transportation infrastructure projects.
• Support engineering calculations, plan preparation, cost estimates, and technical documentation.
• Develop and modify plans using Bentley OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and other design software.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and review technical data.
• Participate in project meetings, site visits, and field observations.
• Gain hands-on experience through mentorship, training, and real-world engineering projects.
