Job summary

David Evans and Associates, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Project Engineer to join our Inland Northwest team.

You will lead roadway design tasks and develop alignments, profiles, and ADA facilities for projects across Idaho and Eastern Washington. The role requires a civil engineering degree, state PE licenses or ability to obtain Washington licensure within six months, and 7+ years in transportation design using OpenRoads Designer and Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Current Idaho P.E. license and Washington P.E. license or ability to obtain Washington licensure within six months of hire.
• Seven or more years of civil engineering experience with substantial transportation-project design.
• Experience developing transportation plans using OpenRoads Designer and/or Civil 3D.
• Experience delivering projects for state DOTs and local agencies.
• Knowledge of roadway design principles, standards, specifications, and construction-document requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate technical work, manage priorities, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead roadway design tasks from conceptual development through final design and construction documents.
• Develop alignments, profiles, typical sections, grading plans, intersection layouts, and ADA facilities.
• Prepare and review preliminary and final plans using OpenRoads Designer and Civil 3D.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyze survey data and related information.
• Coordinate roadway design with structures, drainage, traffic, utilities, and other disciplines.
• Serve as roadway task lead, guiding assignments and mentoring junior staff.
• Communicate technical information to project managers, clients, and stakeholders.
