Job summary

David Evans and Associates, Inc. is seeking an Engineer-in-Training to join the Puget Sound Roads and Highways team in Bellevue, WA. You will work with experienced engineers to develop practical designs for roadway and multimodal projects using OpenRoads Designer and Civil 3D.

Ideal candidates have a Civil Engineering degree and 0–3 years of experience, strong communication, and a desire to grow toward Professional Engineer licensure through mentorship and increasing project responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 0–3 years Civil Engineering experience preferred.
• Exposure to OpenRoads Designer and/or Civil 3D through work, internship, or coursework.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to explain technical info clearly.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and design of roadway, highway, and intersection projects.
• Prepare design calculations, exhibits, plan sheets, details, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Develop plans using OpenRoads Designer and Civil 3D.
• Review maps, survey data, and technical reports for design quality.
• Assist with construction documents, technical reports, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines on multidisciplinary projects.
• Assist with utility conflict identification and coordination with agencies.
• Support project organization, document control, and quality reviews.
• Participate in project meetings and site visits.
